Property tax return

Bought an apartment, house or land in the Czech Republic last year? Then you file a property tax return by 31 January.

Property tax (daň z nemovitých věcí) is a small yearly tax on land and buildings in the Czech Republic. You file the return once: by 31 January of the year after you became the owner. After that you only file again when something changes, for example when you buy or sell more property or change its use.

The tax itself is due by 31 May. When it is more than 5,000 CZK, you may pay it in two halves, by 31 May and 30 November. We tell you the amount and how to pay it.

What we do

  • Check the extract from the land register (katastr nemovitostí) and the purchase contract.
  • Prepare and file the return with the right tax office for the property.
  • Tell you how much to pay, by when, and to which account.

Do you rent the property out? Rent goes in your personal income tax return, a separate return with its own deadline.

Price

3,500 CZK for a property bought last year.
